Keeping you safe in your Rugby Club

Amy Alderdice - Upper Eden Safeguarding Officer
What do I do?
I try to make sure that everyone under 18 is safe at the club. That includes spectating and helping out, as well as playing. I try to make sure that people are safe when playing home and away or going on a tour.
What should you do?
If you are worried about something, you could start by talking to a parent, coach or team manager, or me. I will write it down, so I remember, and help to make things better.
What then?
If the problem is with another child, then we will speak to their mum or dad; if it is someone in charge, we will speak to RFU at Twickenham to help; if it is really bad we can speak to the police or social services. We then decide what needs to be done.
The Rugby Code
TEAMWORK - RESPECT - ENJOYMENT - DISCIPLINE - SPORTSMANSHIP
Everyone involved in rugby in England, whether as a player, coach, referee, administrator, parent or spectator is expected to uphold the core values of our sport.
If you have any concerns about the safety of your child whilst playing for the club, or spectating, or you would like to discuss anyone not adhering to the Rugby Code, contact me using the information below, or see me when I am at the club.
